"Boistrous and brilliant" Yell.com

"Always buzzing and full of locals both Shoreditch hipsters and neighbours. This is all you want from a local restaurant. A comfortable Spanish busy atmosphere!! I especially liked the BBQ'd Lamb and the Chorizo with Baby Squid, my girlfriend loved the Roasted Pepper Salad and the tender sizzling Sea Bass, oh and the Pimientos de Padron all this with plenty of Spanish Bread. This was washed down with a bottle of Albarino that the waiter recommended us as it was from his local region in Spain.

My GF said, We have to go there! So glad we came during the week and we will be going back, with friends soon again. Keep it Local!" Square Meal

"The place really reminded me of restaurants I've been to in Barcelona at lunchtime, madly chaotic and busy, but the unflustered staff somehow achieving super-efficient and speedy service. We had a few Spanish classics such as lentils with chorizo, calamaris fritas and patatas bravas actually tasted exceptional."

"The food was delicious so we ordered some more"

"The food at Laxeiro is lovely- authentic Spanish food at reasonable prices" London Eating

"Small but perfectly formed tapas restaurant on Columbia Road (famous for the flower market). It feels like you are eating in someone's living room but that just adds to the whole ambience. You're more than likely to experience an impromtu sing along from the local Spanish community who seem to hang out here! Great choice of wines. To die for calamiri, sardines and spicy chickpeas mean that even vegetarians are more than catered for!" The Guardian

"Hidden GemÓ - Apologies for the cliched title, but this tapas bar, cocked down the far end of Columbia Road in Shoreditch, really does qualify as a hidden gem. At Laxeiro the food is freshly cooked and seldom do any of the dishes disappoint in terms of quality. The place itself has the feel of a cafe, but the food is what defines it. It's excellent and well worth a visit." Trip Advisor

"The menu focuses on classic flavours and simple execution: patatas a•oli was a textbook combination of crunchy, floury potato and unctuous, garlicky mayonnaise; a Pedro XimŽnez sherry reduction provided the perfect foil for tender asparagus spears. Barbecued meat and fish is a speciality." Time Out London

"I've had many an evening - and birthday - with friends here. Definitely one of my five favourite places to eat in London. I always want the whole menu, but to tackle more than three dishes is rather greedy. And I absolutely have to have the broad beans with manchego in a saffron sauce, so that only leaves me two other options (which become three, because I can't help it). I love the white chorizo, and the chorizo in red wine. And the barbecued fish dishes. And the house Rioja ('oh just one more bottle then, go on...)." Qype

"love it. good honest food. just how it should be. like being in a bar in spain. actually this is better than some places there. This small restaurant continuously serves good honest Spanish food an all Spanish wine list with friendly attentive staff. We walked past this restaurant one night after coming out of a local pub and thought we'd give it ago. that was before Christmas and must have gone back at least half a dozen times. now whenever we go out in Shoreditch we eat in Laxeiro. the food is outstanding, always tasty and they constantly have new dishes to try."
