Label Spotting
Denominacion de Origin (D.O.) – This signifies the specific region where the wine has been produced (i.e. Rioja, Ribero del Duero, Rias Baixas etc., there are18 D.O.’s on our wine list). Spain boasts over 50 D.O. zones, each with strict controls over permitted grape varieties and maximum yield.
The Ageing of wine is noted on the label of all Spanish wines.
Crianza – These wines spend two years maturing, with a minimum of six months in an oak cask & the remainder in a vat or bottle.
Reserva – A Reserva spends three years developing, at least one of which must be in a cask & at least one in a bottle. Most Reserva’s are aged beyond this minimum.
Gran Reserva – These are only made in the best vintages and from the best grapes. Aging for at least two years in oak & a further three in the bottle. Check our black boards for some of these wines.

Sunset pink. Its aromas are predominantly of fresh citrus fruits, sweet ripe apple and quince. The fruit provides sweetness and the acidity livens the finish. The aftertaste is long and honeyed, with an elegant and lingering finish.
